~ Welcome to JimThomasBronzeStudio.com! ~

Thomas Studio & Foundry specializes in designing, sculpting, casting, and
fabricating fine public and private art including architectural art,
fabrications, and casting bronze for other artists. Jim Thomas has more than 35 years of professional experience as an art
bronze foundeur and sculptor. Thomas currently has a small foundry
and fabrication shop with skilled artisans. Larger casting and sculpting projects include the 5-story "Tree of Life"
sculpted brick park in Cleveland, Ohio; the 1.5 scale cast bronze Chisholm Trail Commemorative park in Round Rock,
Texas; and the three-figure 12' cast bronze Vietnam Memorial by Tony Pham for a park in Bellaire - Houston, Texas. and six full scale cast bronze longhorn entry sculptures for upscale apartments in Houston, Ft. Worth, El Paso and San Antonio.
Jim Thomas is a nationally published artist with numerous professional
art association memberships, including TSOS, AArC, and DFAC (see bottom of page). Among the many awards won, Thomas is a
three-time "Gold Medalist" of the Texas Cowboy Artist
Association. College training in earth sciences, chemistry, and
metallurgy, combined with 15 years professional
team experience with architects, engineers, government and private public
art administrators are merely a foundation for his years of professional
sculpting, art foundry, and metal fabrications experience.
Recently, the Jim Thomas Studio participated in the design, sculpting,
fabrication, and installation of five Bloch Cancer Survivor Plazas in New
Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Cleveland, and Columbus. Thomas has also
produced, from an antique blueprint, a 4000 lb. bronze reproduction of an
ornate door and frame for a historic building restoration in Dayton.
Thomas designs and produces bronze, wood, and composite sculptures and architectural art.
The studio has completed the first phase of a 22-figure 1.5 scale Longhorn cattle trail drive commemorating the
Chisholm Trail Crossing of Brushy Creek at Round Rock, Texas. The Chisholm Trail Comemorative figures in place include The Pioneer Woman, The Pioneer Boy and The Bell Steer.
On this web site, we've separated the artistic creations of Jim Thomas
into new art, figurative
sculpture, architectural
fabrications, and bronze
casting foundry. And due to its size and ongoing timeline, the Round
Rock Chisholm Trail project currently receives its own page.
On each page, you'll find a brief description of the work, along with
any respective pictures (thumbnail images). Full-size versions,
showing greater detail, are available by clicking these images. Due
to the large number of pictures on the site, some pages may take an extra
moment to download. Rest assured, any wait will be well worth it.
Finally, all pieces available for purchase by the public are listed alphabetically in the
catalog. These pieces will also be linked
(where applicable) to their detailed description on other pages within the
web site. Should you wish to acquire a catalog item or
commission a piece of your own, please use the contact information located
at the bottom of the page.
